Privacy policy

Effective and last updated September 25, 2026

Overview

Zeeli lets you direct agents on your computer or on remote nodes you control. The website provides accounts and access to those nodes. Zeeli does not show ads or sell personal information. This policy also covers the relay and optional notifications.

Data handled by the app

The control plane stores your account profile and sessions, node ownership and connection status, project names and repository URLs, and short-lived enrollment records. Node credentials are stored as hashes; node API tokens are encrypted in PostgreSQL. Repositories, thread histories, files, and agent workspaces remain on their node. Your desktop or mobile client may cache content it reads from that node.

Desktop connections and storage

The desktop and mobile apps keep account and node connection credentials in device storage. Native builds use the operating system's secure storage; the web app uses encrypted browser storage when supported. The website and database run on Zeeli's servers or on an operator's self-hosted deployment.

Remote node traffic uses encrypted HTTPS or WebSocket connections to the relay. The relay terminates those connections and forwards request content to the node; the relay operator can access that content. This is transport encryption, not end-to-end encryption between your device and node.

Optional push notifications

If you enable notifications, the native app receives an Apple Push Notification service (APNs) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token; an installed web app creates a browser Push API subscription. The app sends that registration to your connected node. The desktop may send the registration and notification content through Zeeli's hosted service at zeeli.dev, which forwards the message to APNs, FCM, or the browser push service. Notification content can include a project or thread name and status needed to show the alert; desktop privacy settings can redact identifying titles. Apple, Google, Mozilla, Microsoft, and Zeeli's hosting provider may process delivery data under their own terms. You can disable notifications or remove the connected node to unregister the device.

Website operation

The website and the web app load no third-party analytics. Their operator may keep ordinary server logs needed to run and protect the account and relay services.

Sharing and retention

Zeeli does not sell or rent account or mobile data or use it for advertising. Data may be handled by services you choose through an agent, optional notification providers, and the operator of your control plane and relay.

Cached content remains on your device until you clear it. Node data remains on that node until you remove it there. Control-plane data remains in PostgreSQL and its backups until the account or records are removed under the operator's retention process. Notification providers may retain delivery data under their own terms.

If you email support or open a GitHub issue, Zeeli receives the information you choose to provide and uses it to investigate the request and respond.

Security and children

Zeeli uses access tokens and platform security features to protect connections and stored credentials, but no system is completely secure. Zeeli is a developer tool and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Zeeli changes and will publish the new effective date here. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to [email protected].
